    Although we have numerous means to combat perspiration and body odor, sometimes during physical activity, stress or heat, we still need to struggle with wet spots under the arms, and the smell they emit is nothing like roses.

    If your sweat has already started to smell, but there’s no chance to shower, carefully wipe your armpits with wipes. Then apply an antibacterial hand wash – it’ll kill the germs that cause the smell.

    6. Hydrogen Peroxide

    Hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic that fights germs and helps prevent unpleasant odors throughout the day. Add 1 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide to half a glass of water and apply this mixture to dry and clean armpit skin in the morning.

    5. Baking Soda

    If you use natural remedies, it is important to try baking soda as an antiperspirant: apply to slightly moist skin in the morning and then shake off the excess.

    If you are anticipating a difficult day involving physical activity in the heat, a homemade “isotonic” will help reduce your sweating:

    • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon of sugar
    • 1 liter (1 qt) of water.

    Drink 1 cup in the morning. If you think drinking at once is difficult, drink it in small amounts throughout the day.

    4. Oak Bark

    Oak bark is sold in pharmacies and is considered an effective remedy for excessive sweating. You can wash your armpits with an oak bark decoction after your shower.

    Alternatively, you can freeze it in ice cubes and rub your skin with them in the morning.

    Decoction recipe:

    • 5 tablespoons of earth crust
    • 1 liter (1 qt) of water

    Add the shell to the water and boil for 30 minutes. Infuse for 2 hours, then strain.

    3. Alunite

    Deodorant mineral crystal is a natural analog of conventional antiperspirants. It has no odor, leaves no trace on clothing, and is made of alum (pupil crystals).

    This mineral has antiseptic, antibacterial, and tonic properties. It also shrinks the sweat glands and the smell disappears.

    To use the crystal, you need to moisten it with water and rub your armpits. It does not clog pores and lasts from 1 to 2 years.

    2. Botox

    If wet armpits are a regular concern,  you can have a botulinum toxin injection. It is used to treat hyperhidrosis, a clinical case of increased sweating.

    The toxin blocks nerve impulses that lead to the sweat glands so that sweat is not secreted. The injection effect lasts 6-12 months.

    When no antiperspirant helps, you should find out why with your doctor. If your diagnosis is hyperhidrosis, the sweat glands can be treated with a laser – this permanently stops their function.

    Since sweating is involved in regulating heat and removing unnecessary substances from the body, the laser is applied only to the increased areas of sweating detected by the minor starch iodine test.

    Heavy sweating can be a symptom of serious illnesses like heart failure and diabetes. If you notice that you have started to sweat more than usual, see a doctor.
