Companies often use specific methods of influence to make us buy things we don’t need. However, some of them can be not only unnecessary but also very dangerous for our health.
We made a list of the things that most of us have at home. We rarely think about their quality, but the harm they cause has been proven by different researchers. Should we continue to use them?
Everyday Things That Are Unhealthy For Us
1. Plastic Food Containers
It is not the plastic itself that damages us, but the chemical components that manufacturers use to make packaging solid. Washing, heating, and contact with food components often worsen the situation.
Plastic becomes very toxic and dangerous. Do not use plastic food containers for more than 5 months and avoid using them in the microwave.
2. Crocs
Millions of people love wearing this simple pair of shoes every day, but Crocs doesn’t provide the necessary heel stability. An unfixed heel can lead to many different problems, such as toe deformities, callus formation, and foot pain.
Another reason to wear something more comfortable is the fact that the toe (the part of the shoe that provides support between the toes and the heel) becomes very soft after prolonged use. It is crucial that any footwear have a very solid shank so that you do not experience any discomfort when walking.
3. Mascara
Pay close attention to the ingredients of the mascara when buying a new one. Some components, such as parabens, aluminum powder, and propylene glycol, can be very dangerous for the health of your eyes.
Avoid wearing your friend’s mascara as it can cause bacteria and fungus to form and lead to infection growth.
4. Non-stick Cookware
The perfluorinated chemicals used to create the nonstick lid on your pan are not as dangerous in themselves. However, when the temperature exceeds 230ºC, the frying surface extracts a certain amount of volatile substances.
Danish researchers have discovered that the presence of these poisonous chemicals in human blood can lead to the formation of cancer cells.
5. Antibacterial Soap
The law regulated the amount of triclosan, the antiseptic used in antibacterial soap, to 0.1-0.3%. However, the damage is much greater: the triclosan weakens the immune system and makes our body resist the absorption of antibiotics.
It can also cause hormonal imbalance and muscular dystrophy. In fact, antibacterial soap is just a marketing gimmick. Research shows that any bacteria can be washed from the hands with a bar of simple soap.
6. Using The Toilet
Progress has brought us many harmful habits, such as improper sitting in the bathroom. At a 90-degree angle at the hips, the natural passage of the intestine is interrupted and practically isolated.
In the worst case, it can lead to irritable bowels, constipation, hemorrhoids, and even colon cancer. The natural position of a 45-degree angle at the hips is best for your health.
